I had installed the drivers from a CD which ATI had provided. This was a bad thing as my PC kept hovering to a Blank screen and restarting whilst using the startup repair momentarily. I had found a solution which was to access safe mode and uninstall the current drivers and software and then installing the 10.2 drivers which Macca provided me with. After this, I had installed all drivers and softwares and rebooted my system and it worked!!

A big thanks to all the OCuK folks for helping me out!
 
fizzle - thanks for that. As I understand it there was a conflict between the Catalyst Control Centre and the CD supplied drivers - but once you'd cleaned out the house and did a clean driver install all was good.

Glad you're cooking on gas.
