I now have a problem with another pc in the house:( not my weekend lol. Its with my brothers pc. He was on it last night and turned and his foot just tapped the side of the pc and the screen went black. Changed the graphics card to test it out and it worked fine. After shutting it down and then turning it back on the start screen took ages to display the amount of ram and hdd's etc. It then went to the windows did not load properly screen and then after that the monitor went black with the 'no rgb signal input' message. I know both graphics card are not broken so what do you think guys?

specs
amd atahalon socket 939 processor
geforce 7600
1 gig ram

check that everything is still plugged in. if he kicked it and it stopped working he probably pulled out a cable, or made it loose enough for the connection not to be good enough.

ill give that a quick try and see how it goes. if that does not work what do you think the problem is?

edit
still getting a black screen while the pc is on. i have tried a different graphics card and it worked first time, then when i restarted it it it would not work :S

Got a different monitor at hand?

So to clarify, the system is physically booting into windows? Just theres no display being put onto the monitor...But the graphics card works in another system?

I'm presuming the Geforce 7600 doesn't require a power connection from the psu either? :)

Could be a faulty motherboard then...What board have you got again? Does the motherboard have two pci-express x16 slots or? Could try it in the secondary slot if you like.

How do you know it's definitely booting into windows? Got speakers connected etc?

If the cards working in another system, then the cards fine. It's got to be something with the motherboard, especially if it's booting up into windows.
