If i'v posted this in the wrong place please put it were it should be!

Hey, So not long back i got a new computer and it was working fine! Then a few weeks back my screen started forming red and white squares then it makes a black screen starts up and says "nvidia drivers have stopped responding and have recovered" and does this about every 20 seconds then it does it but the screen does not start back up! so i have to restart my computer and it does it all over again! I'v try researching this over and over again but can't find any good reason for this. I'v been getting very annoyed and just wondered if there was any advise you could give me?

My pc specs are :

Intel i5 760

8 gb ram

gtx 460

700w evo lab psu (cheap)

1tb hard dive

I took a picture of it with my phone for what happening to the screen!

Hi and welcome.

That screenshot looks like classic graphics card failure.

You could try installing the latest Nvidia driver from their website, Re-fitting the card also, but I do fear the card is borked, the cheap PSU probably hasnt helped either.

Yep looks like your video card memory has gone **** up. I also agree with Stulid, that PSU shouldn't be anywhere near a PC with a 300 quid video card in it!

I wouldn't rule out your PSU either, considering it's got a retail value of ~£20. It can only provide 450watts on the 12v rail. The stability and quality of its output is questionable at best.

I remember similar things with my old 8800gt, I would say gfx card issue also, check your warranty, it will tell you either on your original invoice, on their website or in the documentation with your gfx card.

From what I can gather, it looks like a lifetime limited warranty :)

In the US it is.

I haven't seen anything for the UK.

And the limited part is all important:

LIFETIME WARRANTY

SPARKLE (“SPARKLE”) warrants the product, to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the product as sold to the original purchaser (“PURCHASER”), subject to all the terms and conditions hereunder. This LIFETIME warranty is for replacement for like items only. Lifetime replacement warranty does not cover items OUT OF PRODUCTION if the company no longer stocks them. (Lifetime is defined as the lifetime of the product on the market. Outdated technology is not covered by lifetime warranty if the item is no longer available on the common market as a new product.) This warranty is not assignable. Third party products, such as motherboards and other system components using or interacting with the SPARKLE products are not covered by this warranty.

It would depend if Sparkle still still stock the GTX 460.

well i'm gunna try and use warranty and see if i can get a new one or something but i'm not sure how to, so if any of you could link me to something to fill out and send back? but i might buy a new psu and see so if i get a new one it wont break again
