Computer reboots when a CD/DVD is inserted

Bit of a odd one. My pal built a new machine, everything new apart from DVD drive which is an IDE one. Now when he inserts a game (MOH:A specifically) the computer reboots, and after reboot he can continue to play the game. Its a weird one. He has:
1 IDE HDD
1 IDE DVD drive
1 SATA HDD
Everything is fine apart from the fact it reboots when a disk is inserted.

Could it be down to how the IDE drives are set up, as in Master and Slave? or the mobo not taking well to the DVD Drive? He has the IDE HDD and DVD drive set as Slave drives and SATA is SATA (which i assume SATA automatically sets itself as Master? correct me if im wrong ive not really used IDE much before as i came into computer when SATA was brought in lol). Or could it be Memory related? There is nothing in the event viewer as the disk barely starts to spin up before it reboots.

His PSU is the OCZ StealthXtreme 600W, I dont think that would be causing the issue as he has no other issues with machine random rebooting/shut downs or anything. The RAM is Ballistix PC2-6400, no BSOD's or anything so i dont think it would be that. Its got to be how the drive is set up?

Any help would be awesome, cheers folks! :)

does he have the drives set as master and slave, are they on the same ide cable, what is the full system specs

Full specs:
e6750
Gigabyte DS3-P35
2GB PC6400 Ballistix
OCZ Stealth 600W
Slot DVD Drive (don't know make)
2 HDDs, 1 seagate 200GB (SATA) other WD 160GB (IDE)

DVD Drive and IDE HDD are on the same cable, both of them being set to slave.
He tried having IDE HDD set as master and DVD IDE set to slave but system would not boot. So set both IDE to slave and all boots fine etc.

Ace Modder: I have a spare PSU he can try, we will try n see how it goes.

Paul: Not yet actually, He might have one to try, we will see how that goes aswell.

Thanks chaps!
