I thought I was fairly knowledgeable on almost all areas untill I purchased a wireless router, just looking at some of the functions, 'port forwarding', 'DNS' static - dynamic', I have'nt got a clue.

Also, photoshop. I know there are millions of stuff you can do with this app but I always find myself stuggling just tp resize a pic :)

Im guessing a lot of you know fair bit about computers. But what area would you say you know nothing/very little about?

Made me think that I dont know much about pc's at all :p

Programming\web design\Linux\Unix. Basically I can't program for ****.
Same, ever since Windows-based languages.

Give me QBasic, and I'm ok in that - give me VBasic, and I'm stuffed. :(

I hardly understand anything really. I can put a PC together but coding, clock cycles, overclocking etc, not a clue.

Problem is the only way to get trained in them is to do a degree which is very costly...

It is probably easier to list what I do know about than what I don't. Hardware I'm generally ok on (i.e. what goes into a single, stand-alone computer) and basic(ish) Windows stuff, other than that I'm probably out of my depth and I'll happily admit it. I can guess at quite a few things but it isn't knowledge so much as just applying basic logic and seeing where it gets me.

Serious programming like C## for one and linux,

I am damn good at all things Windows server, majority of MS server products.
Getting better at SQL and asp.net 2.0, though I need courses to further improve my stuff. Damn good with Citrix stuff.

Not really interested writing proper app's and that style of propramming, more interested in web apps, that's where the money is :D

apart from that, there is loads, probably, but none of it comes my way in work , so I don't need to know....

I don't really know that much, just what I've learned in Higher Computing. I can program in Visual Basic and HTML and I know what the things inside a computer do (mostly) but I can't put one together or things like that.

I know nothing about programming, web design, Mac OS.

I have a limited knowledge of linux - I could get by on it quite happily if I had to.

Uhh I guess anything that goes past a general understanding. I know a bit about building pc's networking them and programming, but my knowledge is pretty shallow if that makes sense.

well this thread looks like a good one for my question. When you post a link how do you make the name to appear as Linky or click here. Not really a hard question but i dont know ;)

[ url = <theurlhere> ] <textyouwanthere> [ /url ]

miss out spaces and <>s

you could also just click the insert hyperlink button

to find out things like that - quote someone who's done it.
