Computer Restarting Randomly

Looks like problems across the board, and quite literally.

Hard to say what the main cause of concern is, test bits with another system.

I've had that sort of problem before when my northbridge fan failed and also on another occasion when my RAM was dodgy. Can you rum memtest?

PSU doesn't sound promising tbh.

I strongly believe it to be your PSU. Random restarts and errors usually mean bad RAM, overly high temperatures, or a bad driver somewhere. Do you have the latest chipset driver for your motherboard? However, since the PSU is only a cheap thing, I think it's most likely to be that.

Hello again lads.

I got really bored and decided to test Prime after changing my memory back to 512mb (bog-standard memory), and so far prime is running fine. Prime hasn't reported any errors (touch wood). I know you must think, 'oh it's must be the memory then (2gb Corsair)', well I thought that myself, but then I relised I tested it with memtest and it ran for about 45 minutes, showing no errors etc. I think it might actually be the PSU, maybe it doesn't output enough power? (it's an iCute 350PSU)

Your views will be greatly appreciated, Thanks again.

Some of the cheap no name PSU's don't actually give out the quoted wattage and can be quite underpowered causing system shutdowns etc. Its important to buy a good reliable branded PSU as its responsible for powering all the devices hooked up to your motherboard. Basically, you get what you pay for. I would spend £60 on an antec, corsair or enermax (400W+)

It's the PSU for sure. After changing back to my old memory, I decided to remove that old stuff and put 1 stick of the new memory in (1x1GB Corsair) and tested each stick indervidually, and both have been stable for an hour each in Prime. Thank god it's only the poxy PSU, I'll treat myself to a Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2.

Thanks for all your views and advice lads!
