Computer stuttering after a reboot and playing a game for about 5 minutes.

I have tested the computer .prime,memtest etc and runs them flawlessly and I can play any game no probs- however:

Sometimes ; when I take the computer out of sleep mode - after playing a game for about 5 minutes I then get a stuttering in the game and then when I come out of the game and on the desktop the stuttering is still happening. Temperatures are ok.

The mouse freezing everything freezes for about half a second and then it's ok for 3 seconds and then mouse freezes and then it's ok for 3 secs etc etc. stuck in a loop .

I noticed the hard drive light coming on each time it freezes.

What would this be - any idea?

Once I reboot it's ok and then can do whatever I want. Crysis etc - until I go into and then out of sleep mode and then once i play game for 5 mins etc . it happens again...in and out of a game.

I think i used to have this problem when i was runnig vista on my old laptop. Have you tried doing a defrag? i didnt find a solution, but that was over a year ago. I ended up not putting it into sleep mode. :p
 
Got vista on a laptop here and its terrible when its out of sleep mode, often have to reboot to get the wireless doobrey to work correctly and it feels rather sluggish too. I've also given up with sleep mode :(
