I just got another 2x 4gb of ddr3 ram, for a total of 4x4gb. I went to the bios to activate the xmp profile as it was at 666hz and now my computer keeps turning off as soon as I turn it on. I don't know what to do, any help would be greatly appreciated.

By removing the CMOS battery for 10-15 seconds if you didn't know how to do so.
Sounds like the ram you have doesn't like that xmp profile however.
I don't know what the CMOS battery is, sorry.

It's a silver battery that's on all motherboards. Around the size of a 10 pence piece. you remove them via pulling a little latch and they drop out. Hope this helps.

Unplug the main power cable to the pc. Press the power button a couple of times to drain any juice left in the pc just to be safe then take the battery out

No problem Is all of the ram matched and certified to run at the speeds you are selecting? And is it displaying 666hz in windows or the bios as if it's windows then you are in fact running at 1333mhz, the reason for this is DDR ( double data rate ) for some reason reads wrong inside of windows and only displays half of the speed you are at.

I got the exact same RAM as I had for the original 8gb. I managed to enable the xmp profile on that no problem.
Also, is removing the cmos battery the same as "flashing the bios"?

No, Flashing the bios basically means installing a different bios. Resetting the bios means making it lose power via removing the cmos battery.
Speccy along with every other program also reads it wrong. Reads mine currently at 1066 and i know it's running at 2133 This is what i was trying to explain above
Don't worry about it showing 666 you are running double that i assure you.
