As the title says, this has been happening for a couple of months now and I haven't figured out a solution to the problem.

Whenever I have to install windows updates and it asks to restart the computer I have to shut the computer down instead of clicking "Reboot Now". This happens with everything where a restart is required. It's really frustrating.

Powering down is fine and so is switching it back on. It's just when I reboot from windows where the issue is. I've played around in the BIOS to try to see if its a problem in there but it isn't. It also reboots perfectly fine from the BIOS.

Is there anyone who knows of a solution to this issue?

My SSD is listed first and as far as I'm aware it has priority in the boot up process. I will of course double check when I get the chance.

It doesn't go into the BIOS when I reboot it just hangs on the BIOS startup logo. When this happens everything is unresponsive which means I can't even access the BIOS, I have to shutdown the computer, wait 10 seconds or so and then power it back up. I was hoping to not have to reinstall windows. It is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.
