My friends new computer won't boot from the CD drive so we can't install windows. I've changed the boot sequence to boot form CD drive first, but it skips to hard drive and we get the 0cx000000f windows boot error. Any ideas on what is wrong?

Thanks, Owen

Are you using a DVD in a CD ROM ONLY drive ?

Is the CD Drive plugged in?

Even if you have upped the priority of the device, is it set to be active or inactive in the boot ordering?

I should have said it was a dvd drive, it's plugged in and I think I've set it to active, just to be sure, how would I go about doing it?

BIOS dependant. Some BIOS will have a seperate section to active the device, others will allow you to press spacebar on the device in the boot ordering which will change it from active to inactive etc, so its really a question of reading through all the menu's in case you missed something in it
