Computer won't Boot

My son's computer suddenly just stopped booting - which occured after a few weeks of disuse. It gets to the motherboard flash screen where it gives options to access boot menu etc but won't respond to keyboard inputs. Any ideas on how I can proceed?

Does it freeze when it gets to that point?

Reset the bios by taking the battery out for a few mins. Then replace and reboot
