My computer was working fine but I was playing company of heroes it just stopped working and said windows is logging off and proceeded to shut down. I then rebooted and it got to the logon screen and then shut down again. I unplugged everything other than the hard drive, graphics card and one stick of ram and flashed the bios and now it won't get any further than the bios splash screen. I've tested the ram in another machine and it's fine. I will try a new CPU later and post the results

I've just tried a different power supply in it and without any ram it beepes to say no ram but with the ram in it wouldn't get to teh bios screen or give a beep to say it was on

Edit: No I couldn't get to the bios after the flash but I couldn't get to it before either

I have tried the CPU in another motherboard and that seems to be working so it's looking like it's teh motherboard. Is there anything I can do?

I've tried new RAM and that was no different

I thought that I'd found the problem as the CD drive and it booted up fine with everything else plugged in but just now it completely died and wouldn't turn on until I'd turned it off at the mains

I bl**dy hate computers sometimes. Such a pain when they go wrong. Especially when you don't know what problem is and you have to eliminate everything.

Hope you get it sorted mate as I do feel for you. Not nice when it happens.

I have one power lead that needs to be in use otherwise the PC won't post. It needs to be plugged into either a hard drive or DVD player.
