Feel like the new 12vhpwr cable is a godsend for PSU manufacturers. It's not often PSU actually have a new feature that might entice somebody to replace a functioning, quality and high power unit

Looks like the 12vhpwr cable delivers the full 600w too. I've seen a few brands now that advertise the connector but in reality its limited to 300/450w even on some of the higher end 850w models.

Oh that's annoying, I'd have assumed that would be standardised

Nope, it's in the small print on the spec sheet. From the top of my head, the Thermaltake Models are like this.

The Toughpower SFX 750w premium edition - 12vhpwr only delivers upto 300w
The Toughpower SFX 850w premium edition - 12vhpwr only delivers upto 450w
The Toughpower SFX 1000w premium edition - 12vhpwr only delivers upto 600w

So basically only the 1000w model supports the full 600w load on the 12vhpwr cable. Pretty sure that's caught a few people out on here as i've seen a few as B grades now on ocuk's website.

In some cases it is understandable, if you have a 750w psu there is no way you could run a 600w psu so why would we expect it to provide 600w over the pcie power

Yeah definitely understandable although saying that, Asus and Phanteks mention nothing about limiting power through that cable on the lower wattage models so 750w, 850w all provide the full 600w.

My Loki 850w i've seen as high as 480w through that cable to the 4090 which is pretty insane.
