Compyia A+ Question "Help"

Hi, All

I am doing my assignment & was wondering if anybody could help me answer this question: -

State the typical voltages likely to be encountered when servicing a computer system?.

A would appreciate the reply.

12V, 5V and 3.3V spring to mind. Not forgetting 240V of course.

12, 5 and 3 are DC as they are internal voltages. The 240V supply is from the mains which is AC.

We all have to start somewhere. I was lucky enough to pass the A+ without any study but there are a lot of people who do it that start from scratch with no previous experience with computer systems. I used to work as a techie for a company that did training amongst other things and the majority of the A+ students were 'computer virgins'.

The only stupid questions are the ones that aren't asked.

I think www.howstuffworks.com is a great help with a lot of computer questions - sure it will help with other stuff on your course

Agreed. I started learning about it by reading pc magazines and then by reading tech sites etc. Of course, not many people do that when theyre at school\college...
