Concave football boots

I prefer a heavier boot than some of the lighter ones available nowadays. Probably because after several injuries I've become a lot slower and so the lightness of my boots counts for nothing :p

Won't be playing for another year yet so I doubt I will be trying these any time soon, though they are rather smart looking.

No doubt they will cost upwards of £200!

Haha, these first came out about 4years ago when I was working at JJB Head Office, flopped then and will probably flop again! :p

They do look a bit 'special' don't they. They seem optimised for the sweet spot but anything else will be more difficult I would have thought, outside of foot etc. Also it must take a load of feel away.

Most of the time.

Im not convinced you do, surely it's further towards the instep, which is where this peaks rather than troughs. You only have to look at the side lacing systems employed by the likes of Nike to see this as well. These concave boots would only really be hitting the sweet spot on say dropping volleys that you hit straight.

They look awesome, but it's a lot of money to spend on something that might not suit you.

It's passing they'd be detrimental to, I don't often 'strike' the ball with my instep

I'd have to agree with you, I strike more with the tendon area of my big toe, kinda where the left ridge of the concave part is. It would make things hard.

Several of the boys at my sons academy football team are wearing these boots and they are great - they are light but very protective of feet, amazing quality and they really do seem to improve accuracy. Would certainly recommend them and the prices do vary so some are reasonably priced.

I'm sure this is how the original Predator prototypes started out before that design was finally refined and fins were added.
