Concentrating at work.

Get some sugary food inside you, will help you focus a bit more (may not help the waist line though)

Quite the opposite actually. Breathing exercises are actually the best proven form of brain stiumlation, more oxygen, more blood, more activity.

...and don't lean on coffee for an 'upper' either (yes I do drink coffee but not for a buzz).

Diet has a major part to play, if I get a chance later I'll post up some proper methods to get you active - yes I'm at work, and no I'm not posting here because I can't concentrate! :p

I find that I spend most of my working time procrastinating, but when required I blitz out the work faster than anyone I know. If I worked at my normal pace consistently they'd probably not know what to do with me, so I spread out my day to 10% work 90% procrastination and it kind of balances out into the workload of a normal person. It also is much more enjoyable for me and I still get paid good money. I don't know if anyone else finds this?

I expect one day I'll decide to just put 110% in, but I'm only 21 at the moment so I'm allowed to be naive.

Yeah, I find that.

Sounds just like me and sounds like you need to run your own business.

are u not in a job where u can talk to other people with the same interests, as in sex and games :D

i feel the same, instead of getting on with something i think to myself mmm i will just have a quick look on the internet. some times i look up things i dont really care about at all, or find my self looking at the same page i looked at 10 miniuts ago only to find it hasnt changed. just to use it as an excus not to do any work.

I talke about sex games all the time, my office doesn't approve, they just think I'm some kind of women eating nazi... don't quote me on that.

This is how I've been feeling at quite a few months now, turns out I was depressed and am on medication now... :/

Now I'm not saying that you are but might want to check it out. That feeling of "I want to do it but I physically can't be bothered". It's horrible.

Yeah, anti-depressants are great. I was unmotivated when I was depressed, then I was so confused and dazed on the pills that I couldn't do things properly.

BARGAIN.

On to my last pack of pills now... thank goodness.

Sounds like you could do with some vigerous exercise - get a really dirty girlfriend or failing that head over to sports arena.

I love my job but I wish there was more work. Instead I'm browsing OcUK and wanting to play on my new toy that's being delivered today. ;)

doctors throw anti-dep's out to everyone nower days, it's a distraction to a better way to solve the issues you have, you'd just end up feeling demotivated and naff but you'll have a fixed smile on your face and have even less conerntration...

best advice i can give is get a good sleep pattern and set short personal targets at work and hit them, then set longer targets and then targets for the day, then push to hit them.. a week of that you'll be feeling better + sleeping better, a month of that and you'll notice you'll improve as a person.... if your out of shape, get fit that also helps.

They're overprescribed, yes, but some of us really do need them and benefit from them.

I have various personal things on my mind at the moment which do make concentrating on work fairly difficult.

Just got back from lunch, i've booked a couciling session for tomorrow,

I've been doctors before over depression, and we was just a **** and me and him fell out, in my new job they have a couciler onsite so i can go see him and see what he has to say tomorrow.

Trying to move on from things is easier said than done, i've tried everything to move on from them but they always end up coming back to get me even worse.

I'm in the cat that works a little then gets it all done in a rush at last minute, but working in a helpdesk enviroment is gunna make that job rather hard.

I've moved from a Job that i hated, but i had lots and lots of friends. Close friends i could go and sit with for hoours and now in my new job i miss that, people in my office sit here with music on, i miss all the banter at work. and everyone else on site just seems to keep themselves to themselves its a horrible enviroment for me currently as i'm naturaly shy so its hard.
