The 2006 Concept2 British Indoor Rowing Championships are being held on 12 November after which they sell the machines which were used for the competitions. The following is from their newletter and may be of interest to anyone considering making a substantial investment in one of these machines.

Rower Sales

As in previous years, we will be selling the Race Machines, which will be available for collection following the end of racing. This year we will be using the brand new Model D with PM4. (see http://www.c2shop.co.uk/products/indoor_rower_d2.php) The price will be £899 as opposed to the retail price of £1045 and sales are based on a strictly first come first served basis. Bought a model D in the summer for just over £700. Had done a fair few miles but was in perfect nick and had obviously been serviced by the owner a lot. Came with a load of free accessories too. Must buy's are the seat cushion that saves ass ache after anything over 4k, and the hand protectors which eliminate blisters.

Cracking machines, my housmates love having racing comps, and i don't see how any other machine could ever compete, except for the V-fit from argos for £199 ;)
