Concerned about the 360 I've purchased

normally tv screens and computer monitors have a different "default" reference level for black. i can't recall the exact numbers but say the black scale was -10 to 10 on a computer monitor, and a tv called it 0 to 10. When the default black level is sent out as 0 for as default from the 360, thats the lowest black on the TV monitor scale but its a midrange setting on a computer monitor, so it looks washed out and crappy. That setting lets you adjust for monitors with a different scale and stop it looked so washed out.

AS for the warranty sticker, depends how it looks, last i checked its pretty damn difficult to take off without simply cutting/ripping it. If its intact maybe it was refurb from MS after it previously had a problem, when they fix it they cut the normal one, fix it, then stick a fresh one on so its likely to look dodgey as the remnants of the original are probably there.

"Monitor" level is "black" at 0 and "white" at 255.

"Video" level has "black" at 16 and "white" at 239, the levels below 16 are used for "very black" and the levels above 239 are for "very white."

That's why a "video" source displayed on a "monitor" will display grey blacks.
