CONCUSSION - Will Smith

I like watching him on screen but his movies are ones i'll watch on VoD or disc. Independence Day was the last movie i went to the cinema to see him in.
 
Will Smith only got into acting because he owed massive amounts of unpaid tax from his 80s rapping career. That's why he made Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Him and his manager then looked at the biggest selling films and looked for common factors and landed on 3: action, love interest, animal. So in order to become a successful and high earning film star he took loads of roles in action films, with a love interest, and an animal. The rest is history.
 
I like Will Smith, one of the greatest rappers the world has ever seen - and he does it all without using any profanity.

i dont get comments like this. people who dont like actors should just say so.

so he made another film. no one is dragging you to watch it. will smith making films in no way impacts your life.
 
shame about the weird accent he sounds like a bad arnie impersonation other than that looks like an interesting movie and while a lot of Smiths back catalogue is cash cow powder puff nonsense he has taken on enough serious roles for me to think he is also a decent actor his two Oscar nominations were both deserved and he was beaten on both occasions by real heavy weights in very very good movies.

What don't you get? I was simply saying I can't stand him. There's nothing to not get, it's pretty black and white!

The question isn't why you can't stand Will Smith. We all have actors that we like watching on screen and some less so. The question is why you would spend you time in a thread titled Concussion with Will Smith in the thread title to tell people you can't stand Will Smith.

Do you go to the Apple forums all over to say you can't stand Apple.

Do you go into Gordon Ramsey's restaurants to tell him you can't stand his cooking?

Do you email Warner Brothers to say you can't stand the Harry Potter movies?

It's one thing to have a critique on his performance AFTER seeing the work, but just to make a blanket comment about you dislike an actor as a whole, that to me is weird as it adds nothing to the conversation on the movie.

Man has certainly gone off the radar and produced that absolute lemon After Earth but be nice to have him back on the screen again with good films behind him.

I think its more that he should stop letting his ego get in the way of making good films.
The fact that he HAS to be the leading man all the time has robbed him of a lot of great roles that would have no doubt propelled his career even more so and maybe even got him a few awards to boot.
