Condensation

I've tried silica gels in the past, they don't do anything, you would probably need a hundred of them stashed everywhere before they have an effect.

Silica Gel is a humidity buffer for sealed spaces such as boxes and those perforated aluminum strips in double-glazed sealed units.
It is not suitable for cars or rooms unless you had a quilt cover full of it.

Anyone got a good tip for getting rid of quite a bit of moisture? I recently had my seats and carpets cleaned and they don't seem to have dried properly yet so the inside mists up quite a lot. so far just got one of them dehumidifier box things (with cat litter sort of stuff in) and that's collecting quite a bit of liquid.. but is their a faster/easier way?

(sorry for thread-jack)

If you've got an extension lead and a household dehumidifier you're golden. Otherwise just keep running the AC I guess.

I went from a Corsa and having to wipe all the interior windows down so I could see before driving off, too my A3, I just use the front and rear wipers once and drive away. Never had an issue with the inside of the windows being steamed up.

Aldi have something very similar at the minute "Damp trap"
Seems like a plastic tub with sacks of silica.

£7.99 for the plastic thing and 3x 1Kg bags
£6.99 for 4x 1kg bags

Aldi stuff always gets reduced :p

just stuff em in any holes, and RainX for the outside :)

This is exactly what I did with my Golf due to a busted sunroof seal. The seal had soaked the seats so once I'd fixed it I left the car in the garage for a few days with a dehumidifier running which seemed to remove most of the damp. I think it's still slightly damp in there but I think I have other seals letting small amounts of water in, at least the main one is fixed and the seats are dry. Doesn't seem to mist up as badly as it used to but then also I've not had much of a chance to check lately as it's off the road.

I can't see the silica gel things being very useful really, I'd rather ensure there are no leaks. A damp person getting in shouldn't cause much condensation really so I'd be inclined to think there is an actual leak somewhere still.

Love all this talk of A/C.

You do realise muffinmuncher has a DC2, and if I'm not mistaken it doesn't have A/C.

I just warm here up, heaters on 2/3 warm, windows down to let some humidity out, take a nap, then drive off. All of the above won't matter if she doesn't start though :D

meh, my ek9 had A/C:p

One of the amazing things about the s2k is the tiny cabin, gets warm so quickly.

A/C? Think of the added grammzzz!!!!!!!!!!

It's pretty handy in the S2K, a pity it feels like I've been wedged into a shoebox. I'll skip that and go straight to an NSX :p
