Confessions of the System Builder...

Forgot to switch PSU on and was panicking thought they sent me faulty components, and another 2 hrs later noticed that there's on/off switch at the back of PSU :p

Touch wood nothing too bad just the normal couldn't stop fiddling with S/W and then ending up having to reinstall windows again becasue HD currupt or bricked, thank god for N Lite slip streamed windows disk.

I have done a few mistakes but the one that stands out is when i built a pc for my mate

I prepared the mobo first put ram cpu heat sink on then put it on a chair while i put the drives in the case. after putting the drives in a case i sat down...... ..... on the mobo never booted after dead board ooops

trying to fit one of them cold cathodes into the top of an antec900-2 case, just above the cd drive, got it stuck tried gently for 10 minutes to get it out and then just thought sod it and snapped it out, there's now half a cold cathode in the top of my antec case haha

When i put together my first build.. i was naive enough to put everything together without checking main components.. it was a real tight fit to put in an extra fan on the HD cage with the vga power cable there...
Put the side panel on the case and turned it on... all i see coming out from the back is a puff of smoke.. 0.o well not smoke.. but a cloud of plastic dust :{
Managed to chop up the floppy pin wire on the 120mm fan..
And (i think) because of that.. it shorted out my mobo, ram and cpu, because none of them were working after.. my graphics card survived though luckily :D
Bad timess...

Another time i can't even remember what i was doing.. but doing stuff inside while it was on for some reason or other :/ and accidentally dropped a screw on the mobo.. went to pick it up, touch the mobo and shorted it, but luckily it just reset itself.. no harm done.. hopefully.

Edit: And just remembered another one.. i put the power switch cable on the wrong pins and spent like 15 mins scared trying to find out what was wrong.. then i looked at the mobo manual and was like duhhhh lol.
