Configuring a Cisco 857...

Ok is there any way I can tweak the speed I get? Through my O2 router I get 4.00Mbit download, and with this one, I get about 3.2-ish

Also I was hoping I could set up multiple vlans so I can use a different IP range for wireless connections- but it seems only one vlan can be assigned across all the FE ports- seems strange? Is this right?

Thanks

Id be quite concerned if this is your final configuration, there is no inbound access list on the outside interface, management access is wide open, the NAT statements dont appear to be correct and no dialer profile is specified, in fact im surprised it's working at all.

I would also suggest that you omit such things as your IP Address and especially statements that list usernames, even if you have attempted to remove the password. You essentially have given me more than enough information to cause you plenty of problems.

Id be happy to post an example configuration.

Code:
Authorized access only!
Disconnect IMMEDIATELY if you are not an authorized user!

User Access Verification

Username:

I found my cisco's always synced lower than most other routers I tested.

I've got an 857 and 877 on ADSL2+ lines and both have pretty poor speeds. The 857 started out well enough on adsl2+ that i never bothered to check what speed it sync'd at. I went on holiday and came back to find performance was terrible. My ISP (aquiss) said they'd seen issues with cisco routers on lines with adsl2+ and certain (IFTN) equipment in the exchange. So far cisco haven't been able to resolve it. The issue is the same with my 877.

Is it via the Enta/BTw 21CN ADSL2+ or are Aquiss using some other wholesale LLU option like some of the other Enta resellers did?
21CN seems generally to have issues and my 877's been fine on Be.

It's Enta/BTw 21CN ADSL2+. Aquiss haven't seen the same problems on their hybrid LLU service (C&W). I'll be switching one of my accounts to that service at the end of the month so will be able to compare the difference.

What bugs me is that Cisco don't seem to be able to communicate with BT and BT won't communicate with the ISP regarding technical data of exchange equipment so we're stuck. I've had a TAC open with cisco for a while but got fed up so have closed it.

BT don't upgrade their own routers, so it's perfectly possible it's a bug at BT's end that's fixed already.
