Configuring a non-OS SSD drive

So originally I bought a 120GB OCZ Vertex SSD. All good, but I didn't get around to installing it due to not wanting to re-install Win7. So then I got fed up with the motherboard (Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H) and got myself a nice AM3+ board so I would be ready for Bulldozer (oops!). So I may not be getting bulldozer, but I've still got the Asus AM3+ board and it has SATA III. So while RAM and SSD prices were cheap I bought a 128GB Crucial M4.
Once again I've not gotten around to installing the M4, but since prices are going up I don't feel too bad about buying when I did.

I considered selling the 120GB OCZ drive, but nobody wants them so the prices were low. So I decided that I would install it as a secondary SSD drive. The M4 will be the OS drive with my main games junction pointed (is that the right term?) on it too. The Vertex would then be a secondary games/apps drive (again junction pointed to allow me to move things around without un-installing and re-installing) with my Samsung F3 drive basically being a data drive and used for and games I still want installed that wont fit on the other 2 drives.

Now I know that when you install Win7 it will configure the SSD correctly, but what if you add an SSD after it's installed? Does it know to configure that one?
Currently I don't have any SSDs installed, if I added the Vertex drive (for games) will it configure that SSD properly or do I have to do it manually?

Hopefully I explained all that clearly?

Thanks.

I always check that Win7 gets the config right, just in case. Just make sure it's turned off defrag and indexing/search. You may also want to set it to never power down.
