Configuring DG834 Router

I was just wondering if, on my recently purchased and installed router if it automatically is set-up, as in blocked firewall ports.

If I click in 'Firewall Rules' theres two tables Inbound and Outbound:

Does this mean it is set-up, or how do i block certain ports, can someone give me a brief synopsis off this screen.

Yes it is set up, so you've got nothing to worry about. All that does is allow you to set up your own firewall rules if you won't to, which can be very handy if the need arrises.

If you wanted to block an Outbound connection from a computer on your network to the Internet just add a rule, something like:

Block Port 80 on IP 192.168.0.5 and Log this if they attempt to connect

etc
