Configuring Hue Light and Extractor Fan

Too late now but an other option would be an inline Zigbee switch like this:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08RYT9XGL/

Put this on the feed to the extractor, which will always be live due to the bathroom lights being Hue. Then setup a simple routine under Alexa or whatever home assistant you have, call it something like Showertime so when activated it puts the fan on, turns the lights up and then automatically turns the fan off a set time afterwards.
This is what I planned to suggest also. Small and pretty much purpose-made for this. Can't abuse it like a 13A socket :)

Just come across this thread. Very similar to the set up I have.

What I done was just wired the fan directly into a plug top and removed the timer/humidity stat from it and had it on full fan speed it’s like a rocket ship. Then put a smart plug.

I just renamed the plug/logo to the following on the apps then set it up on the light switch so I can turn either the light on or a press and hold turns both on.

Then I stuck a motion sensor and set that up so it turns the fan off after 10 minutes.

It’s over kill but like you that’s the set up I wanted and it works flawlessly.

Done exactly this with the exact same switch, although my central extractor has a humidity stat it seems to take longer in the winter due to cold attic space, Zigbee switch wired into the manual switch and routine setup on Alexa to run for equal runover to on time, up to 20+20mins, we use this more now and the humidity stat seems to be more as a backup when the kids forget to turn on the fan.

I have been using an Xpelair bathroom extractor that's fitted with a PIR movement detector. It also has an adjustable timer - so every time someone enters the bathroom, the fan comes on. Its been working fine for about 8 years but getting a bit noisy now so considering other options. I have a Philips Hue movement detector that controls the lights directly so it would be great if that could also control the fan - but as far as I know there are not any fans that connect directly so I could consider using the hue plug and instal it above the false ceiling or just get another fan with built in PIR. I prefer movement detector over humidity detector because I want the fan to run when the toilet is being used and not just when the shower us being used.

Could you swap the extractor isolater for a hue smart wall switch?
Possibly. It's 2 pole if I remember correctly. It also isolates the hue ceiling lights so it is convenient for changing bulbs or whatever. There are 6 hue lights which in hindsight was not the cheapest option but it enables the lights to be dim at night and bright when required during the day.

I have now been tempted by a duel fan. It has a movement detector and a humidity detector. When it detects movement it sets the fan to speed 1 and if humidity increases, it speeds up. It's also very quiet so it's electric, it's a gadget = I need it!
