Configuring IIS? (Can't get it to authorize)

Hi

Basically I've just installed IIS to start learning ASP properly. After following this setup guide closely and making sure each setting was correct I saved an example ASP file out and after testing it in IE it's telling me i'm not authoized to view it :confused:

I'm going to http://localhost/thepines/HelloWorld.asp and it just isn't letting me view the page :confused:

Can anyone help?

You will need to ensure that the IIS user name as appropriate access to the directory the files are situated in.

I.e. Right click on the directory in Exporer and give it permissions to Read the files.

Might need to turn on advanaced file sharing.

Also, are you using IIS6?

If so, you'll need to enable ASP.

Try a default.htm file, see if that works.

I kept on looking around in the security settings and eventually got it working.
