Confrontation Yes/No?

Sometimes you just have to move on. Had a chav shout abuse at me a few years ago and figured he probably was either mentally unwell or just wanted to go back to prison...or both.

Funny thing is, since I have bulked up in the gym it doesn't happen anymore. Actually, last time it happened the guy took one look at me and decided to verbally abuse the person next to me instead.
There's a saying "don't look like a victim"

It's not about being able to handle yourself in a scrap, it's about making the other guy think you can.

Walk tall, keep your head up, don't hunch over as if to avoid eye contact with everyone.

We don't live in a perfect world where everyone is kind and courteous, we live in a world full of idiots unfortunately.

I was a timid kid and got picked on a lot, I was glad when I left school and finally entered the workplace. But now I work in construction where people can be a lot worse if they want to be but nobody gives me hassle because I put myself about more. I just wish I had learned these life lessons when I was 12 and not 22.

It doesn't always work that way. Sometimes I think they think because you're big they have to be more aggressive, like you've tried to intimidate them by being big so they want to show you something. Just a few hours ago I had to stop a guy then shortly after ask him to leave as he was getting aggressive about a simple question. Ended up members of the public were getting involved as he was making a massive scene and they want to tell him he was being an idiot. He told me he'd be back later to stick something in my back and off he went... with his crying 12 year old in tow. There really was no need and I do wonder if he'd behaved that way if I was a small woman.
