Confused about how to add a drain valve

Hi there

I’ve been looking at this reservoir (which I could add a pump to), to mount via feet to the lowest part of my case.

… but there is no drain valve / port on the reservoir? Uh… why?

How would one go about adding a drain to this reservoir, or is this impossible?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the potentially silly question. I’m just struggling to understand why such a device wouldn’t have a dedicated drainage port.

Yerp, definitely looks like just an in/out. I would advise against drilling/tapping holes in the plexi to get a drain port in the res specifically... you're probably best off just putting a T fitting on the inlet and having a tap on that.

It depends on whether you're using the top for return or the bottom. If you use the top for return then you could use the inlet at the bottom for draining. That's up to your loop design though.

Not that unusual to only have
2 ports at the bottom
Just use a T piece or Y piece
Or multiport fitting to get the drain valve on
I prefer to put the drain valve on bottom radiator though
If the build has one
Usually it's lower than the pump/reservoir is

That res looks suspiciously similar to my heatkiller one and I'm doing the same. In the top, out the bottom and a pull to open drain on the unused bottom inlet.

Would echo the radiator comment. Res is super easy to drain, wherever it is, radiators always have a bit of a habit of holding on to fluids a bit harder than most other parts short of complicated GPU blocks. Generally though, ye, a T/Y connector at the lowest bit of the loop with 1 side to a wee valve (I'm sure there's nicer but even a lumpy brass thing from B&Q does perfectly well, can be tucked away on the end of a bit of pipe).
