Hi,
I'm looking to buy a opteron 170 to replace my 4000+ (clawhammer), now, i've found 2 competitor sites at around the same mark (80quid), one says the stepping is e6 and the other doesn't specify. What i'm wondering is whether the e6 is a good stepping? I've looked around the place and can only see steppings of CABYE 0540 FPBW etc. for opterons. Is e6 an actual stepping or is the supplier making up figures to entice punters like me to buy.

Cheers,
TOL

CABYE 0540 stepping opterons where the golden jewel of clockers and the very early CABNE steppings.

This was the 146 single core range though.

E6 steppings seem best so far for x2 opterons, i just bought a E6 to test compared to my 1 year old 170 and e6 rocks, straight in at 2.9ghz 12 hours orthos stable, thats on air and stock volts, good for 3ghz i reckon adjusting my ram :D , i have yet to hear of a e6 doing less than 2.7 stock volts where older ones were hit and miss, some only did 2.4-2.6 max
