Confused over CPU/Core Temp difference

It's not a major issue but I was wondering if someone could alleviate my confusion over the difference in CPU/Core temps.

Running Aida64 my CPU temp is reported at 34°C however for all 3 core temp readings I'm given a reading of 24°C

Why such a difference?

Dont look at the cpu temp, look at the core temps, thats the right one

So it's just a mis-read by what I assume to be the mainboard CPU sensor ?

i am assuming that they are using different tjmax values.
i had a similar thing with my old b3 Q6600.
coretemp reported the tjmax at 100, when it should have been 90.
so my temps were +10.C wrong when it was set to 100, once i set it to 90, my temps dropped 10.C and were right

also amd cpu's are notorius for reporting wrong temps
