Its a small business network with 30 computers running off a Netgear DGN2000 router.
We used it an emergency and has been doing a good job covering a more advanced router for a year now.

Anyway, 20 of the computers are linked through switches to only 1 port of the router.
1 standalone pc is connected directly to the 2nd port of the router.

These both work very well.

The 2nd lot of computers is connected to the 3rd port.
These stopped working this week

here are the steps I've taken-
1-connect individual computers directly to ports on router and they pick up an ip address, and i can ping websites but no internet on firefox chrome or IE.
I tried loads of computers and loads of cables. I even tried a laptop which has never been connected to the router before.

2-Tried using the ports that work on these computers and still no internet.

3-restarted router

4-Tested PC's on a different internet line with a different router and they work there. but this is a backup service and its slow.

I don't understand how one set of computers are working fine, and any others or new set don't work.

Try manually setting an IP details and use a third party DNS like Google (8.8.8.8)

EDIT

Just reread that you can ping sites, that's my DNS theory out the window.

Maybe the router is dying on you, would seem that way.

On one of the none working PC. You have an IP address, you can ping external IP's, and you can resolve the hostnames of website to ping them. You cannot get HTTP. Do any other services such as SMTP, POP3 or FTP work?
Is there any firewall on either these PC's or the router which blocks traffic other than icmp?
