Connected printer by Adhoc but slight issue

Hi all,

Just bought a Brother wireless all-in-one printer to replace my old ones.

It's connected via adhoc from office PC as the router is some distance away. It works great but I can only seem to connect to PC-ROUTER or PC-PRINTER, meaning I disconnect going from one to the other.

Is this an unfixable issue or is it possible to connect to more then 1 device?

Kind regards,

Connecting as you have you'll be stuck with the problem you describe.

If your PC can connect to the router the printer shouldn't have any problems. The connection to the printer doesn't even need to be that fast.

Thanks,
Office PC can only connect as I've upgraded the antenna to much larger ones.
The printer can find the router but it takes about 3mins to send the info on a basic word doc.

Adhoc is perfect, even a large scanned image sends the info straight over.

Do you think if I purchased another NIC card for the office PC that would work? (1 NIC for internet/router, 1 NIC for printer)

Thanks

There's nothing stopping you using two wireless connections. There'd need to be some manual configuration, but it should be possible to make it work.

Doesn't the the printer have a USB or Ethernet port you could use?

Thanks will look into that,

Yes it does have a USB port but that was the same as my old one and the main reason I upgraded. This new one also has the scanner built-in and because it's wireless I can move it to a much better place in office - so the desk is clutter free.
