Connected TV showing 'out of range'

I've managed through a mixture of my own stupidity and bad luck to prevent my PC from displaying anything on my TV.

This usually would be as simple as changing the TV resolution to something it can handle. However, I can't do this as my monitor goes to black when the TV is connected.

This means I'm unable to change any settings, I've tried to set the AMD catalyst settings to factory default, however this doesn't make any difference.

The annoying thing was that it was working until I started to try to get it to display 1080 instead of the usual resolution is ran at.

Help?

Windows button & "P" at the same time brings up the display quick change. Use one of the left or right arrows to scroll through the different settings. You probably won't be able to see it. So do the windows + P then left and then enter. Repeat until you have some form of display. It won't do any harm if it doesn't work as it just changes between, TV only, duplicate screen, extend desktop, monitor only.

That worked, thank you!

No worries. Old trick I still use, got caught out quite a few times so found that out to also quickly change desktop modes for the same setup you have.

It's useful for me when I want to watch something on the TV, I just plug the HDMI into the tv and the desktop switches from the monitor to the TV, with the monitor going off.

Though now, it is still showing as out of range for the TV when I set the multiple displays to 'display only on 1' (what the TV is identified as). It's fine when I set it to extend display though...
