Connecting 2 5850s in eyefinity mode

Hi how do you connect these to 3 120hz monitors.

I assume you're looking at 3 x LG W2363D-PF.

You can only use the outputs from 1 card and you need to use dual link DVI for 120Hz with that monitor.

The HD 5850 should have 2 dual link DVI connectors so you simply connect two monitors to those with Dual Link DVI-D cables.

For the third monitor you would need an active DisplayPort to dual link DVI-D adapter. These appear to be pretty expensive.

Theoretically that's how you connect them.

I can't say for certain that the HD 5850 works with 3 x 120Hz monitors.

Is it possible to know if an adapter is active?, a friend has one but hes not sure.

On further investigation I'm not sure now that an active DisplayPort to dual link DVI adapter supports 120Hz.

From what little information I can find I just couldn't find a clear answer if it works or not at 120Hz.

I suppose you'll find out when you get it.

Do you have the equivalent of the Distance Selling Regulations you can use to send it back if it's a problem?
