I dont have a wire long enough from router > xbox as we are in different rooms.

Its either that or spent loads on a wireless thingy :p

What is ICS?
Internet Connection Sharing via windows.
You'd have to have the laptop on to play the 360.
I'd suggest a longer cable (you could just make one up yourself if you have access to a crimper and cable) or buy the wireless adapter.

If you have a few shorter cables you could buy a few couplers for them to make a long cable up.

Got a question for this thread.

I'm trying to share my internet connection that my PC receives via wireless with my 360 via a cable.

My wireless card doesn't have the ICS box there to tick. What do I do

Apparantly its a setting on the 360??

I'm giving it a go after my dinner ill let u know how i get on lol

Not sure where this ICS setting on windows is tho?

It has been years since I have bothered with ICS, I thought it was all software within windows rather than specific to your card?
Failing that install a second card or buy the wireless dongle for the 360. The dongle is really good, over priced but really good, neat and tidy, good range, works very well etc. My other 360 uses a Linksys wireless gaming thing that I originally had my old xbox on, need to get a switch or hub so they can share it.

Yeah I've been thinking about just sodding it and going for the wireless adapter.

As for it being just "in windows", yep it is. When I go into the cards properties (where you normally find it) where there's normally a "tick this box to allow Internet Connection Sharing" bit there's just nothing. It really grinds my gears.

I think that the best response (easiest to follow with pictures and everything :p) is here (gives you one method pictorially of how to use the laptop as a bridge with a crossover cable and then some step by step ways of using ICS).

From the last link I posted:

1) Run the Network Setup Wizard
2) Select the first option ("My computer is directly connected to the Internet") and click Next.
3) Select your Wireless Adapter and click Next
4) Select your LAN Network and click Next.
5) Wait for it to finish configuring the home network.
6) Select "finish the Wizard" and end the Wizard.
7) Restart the computer.
8) Connect to the Internet.
9) Try connecting to Xbox Live with your Xbox 360.
10) Success!!

Note: Make sure your connected with your Wireless Adapter and the Xbox 360 is connected to your LAN Network

It doesn't mention ticking a box for the card?
