Connecting a washing machine

Having never done anything like this before, I'm flying blind a bit.

I have a washing machine which has what looks like an outlet hose for the water its finished with, however there is no inlet hose.

I am assuming I can connect the cold to the washing machine, but how do I know what hose fits? Or is it universal?

This may sound stupid to you, I am sure the bit that goes on the washing machine is universal, but what about the bit that connects to the faucet/cold water pipe...surely that isn't universal?....or is it?

That hose will connect at both ends.

how can you not get a hose?

even my crappy beko 200 jobby had an inlet hose

Is this a secondhand or a new machine? If it's new the inlet hose is in the drum if you care to open the door

and don't forget to take the safety bolts out the back if it is new.

they stop the drum moving during transit
