Apologies for my complete and utter fail here, but what adapter do I need to be able to connect my D5 pump to my mobo/power supply?

This is the molex for my D5 pump:

I seem to have an LED and the connector for this fits into the molex for the d5 perfectly:

At the moment I can't connect the pump to the psu or mobo, and obviously if I connect it to an LED it won't work. What do I have to do?

Thanks

hang on, after looking at that again, you've got the wrong connector on the d5!

do you feel comfortable with changing the molex plug on there for the one on your LED (or other thing you can live without?)

it needs to be the same type as what your LED is, seems utterly shoddy that it shipped with the opposite connector that what you need!

naa, just pop out 1 wire from each connector, as in both red wires, then put the d5 ones into the LED's molex. you may need some tweezers to remove them, but it shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes to do :)

Clearly I don't know what I'm doing here. The red wire on the LED is on the left, and the red wire for the pump molex is on the middle-left. Does it matter which way they go in? Also, which way do I take it out, is it in the direction of the wires, or do I take them out in the direction of the connection?

I have just unplugged my D5 and checked the connections.

If you use the white molex plug in the same direction as shown in the photo.
Wire the D5 as this :-

Use the white molex plug with the narrow part pointing down and the pins facing you.
Put the red in the first left & the black in the one next to it (second one in from the left)

Also why are the pins in the wrong place & have the wrong molex fitted?

To answer your other questions.
Don't mix the cables up as you will kill the pump.
As for removing the pins, there are small barbs inside the pin. Push this in from the plug side and pull from the cable.
When you put them back, open the barbs & snap them back into position.

I would post a guide but its from a competitors web page.

I really don't know. I've been plagued with poor watercooling equipment so far. (gpu waterblock didn't come with right thermal pads, backplate didn't come with washers, radiator had a couple of bent fins) This is a bit of a kick in the nuts.

I find it very strange that the pins should be in the incorrect places.
The only reason they would be, is that someone has taken them out after the pump had been dispatched from the manufacturer.
Has the pump ever been braided?

No, the pump isn't braided.

I've taken out the molex from the led and I've attached it to the the pump. However, the red cable goes in too far and the black cable doesn't go in far enough. Ie: it doesn't fit.
