Connecting D5 Pump

i'd be tempted to send it back stating it's wired incorrectly, and you think someone has tampered with it - that's pretty shocking to send it out with the wrong connector...

you shouldn't have to do this, it should be in the correct condition!

if it's a competitor that dispatches from pembrokeshire, i've had problems with them before. i got 2 delrin res's from them, one came with the LED plug, the other came with a metal threaded plug! i e mailed them and they sent out the WRONG size LED plug, so in the end i went to another competitor and ordered one... never dealing with them again i feel!

Yep, it's that competitor that you speak of.

The problem is that I've dismantled the pump in order to put it into the bay res, so to now send it back would be a really big pain.

I've been ****ed over so much with this build it's actually ridiculous

it wouldn't take you much time to dismantle it again and send it back, you'd get a new one within a few days i would've thought but as you say if you've been plagued with problems (you sound like me :D) then i can imagine you just want to get it finished.

good luck with it dude, i look forward to seeing your build log completed :)

As you can see, the red wire is pushing out a lot, and the black wire hardly penetrates at all

Here is a pic of the black one. As you can see, the 'base' is wider than the head, so it can't actually fit in. and I can't really bend it round

The black one is about right, I've just checked it with one of my fans. However, due to the wide base, there's absolutely no way I can get it to stay in place. As for the red one, I can't pull that back and get it to stay in place either

if you've got some electrical tape, line them up to the appropriate depth in the molex plug, and tape the thing up. it'll be hidden away so it won't be unsightly or anything.

that's what i'd do anyway

Im sure the OP had the correct fitting to start with...
It just plugs into a normal molex connector...

Yes it is only 2 pins but that doesnt matter because it only needs a + and a -.

Edit: Oh I see, you have the opposite end, as if something should plug into it, not vis versa...

Well thw pumps dont like being run dry so I guess the easiest way would be to connect up a buckets or something similar instead of pumping through your loop.

You should pull out the retaining barbs on the pins before you push then back into the molex connector.
