First off, my appologies if some are offended and think this is in the wrong forum and should be in the "Console" section but the Speccy deserves MUCH better and I would rather cut off my genitalia with a rusty razor before I bestow it such a cretinus label.

Anyway,

With no new PC games interesting me at the moment, the time has come to dust off the old +2 and Competition PRO joystick and once again play Chuckie Egg and Dailey Thompsons Supertest and a million other CLASSIC games.

What solutions exist for converting RF output to a VGA output so I can connect to my PC monitor?

A. It would look cool
B. I wouldnt have to keep connecting/Disconnecting from my TV.

Anyone connected a Spectrum to a large screen hidef TV.. how bad actually is it?

It didnt allways look great on a 14" TV.. nevermind a 40" one - ROFL

you can get "tv tuners" that have a standard vga out, and vga pass thru.

Acer do one (i have it) - has a normal rf / coaxial input that accepts standard consoles & personal computing solutions, VCR's, DVD players etc. it also has seperate S-Video Din and the red/yellow/white Svideo input.

have a look arround in various places - i dont remember the exact name of it right now sorry. ill post back this evening

That'll be great if you could, sounds exactly like what I am after.

I'd look at MAME or MAME32 as it may be easier to setup then the Spectrum.

Although Emulators are generally OK, theres just something about playing on the original platform.
