Connecting TV to PC via WiFi

Yes, its a Samsung but the router is too far away bringing me back to square one and unfortunately EOP isn't an option due to there being a lack of sockets in the computer room and the desk wont fit properly even if I managed to install an EOP in there

I'll continue to lose the laptop for now even if its a pain and not performing as well as I'd like until I gradually build a new PC and salvage the old one for a media centre, it'll work out better that way anyway as I can then down size my main PC to mini-atx and SSD only and use the media centre for storage
 
You can get passthrough powerline adapters, I use two of them myself. Is the laptop struggling with 1080p video when it's stored on the HDD, or are you streaming over wi-fi? If it's the latter, the wi-fi is likely to be the cause.
