As title states, what's the best way for me to connect a sony BDP-S300 to my Dav-DZ230 surround set up. On the back of the box there only inputs are a scart in/out, HDMI out and a connection for Ipod tp hear that through surround.
would I be able to use a scart to 6phono lead to get the surround sound into the decoder?
or do i have to use the headphone 3.5mm jack to 2 photo connector which is connected into scart through an adaptor?

thanks
Phil

No audio inputs at all? :-/ Digital coaxial or optical inputs? 5.1 analogue RCA input? You could use SCART to audio in, but you'll only get stereo.

I'd throw the Dav away.

yup, no nothing, i can get it to work through the headphone adaptor to phono with scart connection. 1 reason i got it was as it was cheap, & works easy

SCART from Blu-Ray then SCART from DAV to TV should work, you'll get audio and video sent to the DAV, and also routed to the TV also, turn down TV volume.

currently connected HDMI from blu-ray to bravia, then a case of figuring out how best to get sound into dav to use onboard audio decoder to get 5.1 output.
so would that 6photo to scart adaptor work, by using the 6pins for 5.1 on back of blu- ray into scart of dav?

Oh I thought you had a old TV, in which case I'd send HDMI from the Blu-Ray to your TV. Then SCART to SCART or RCA to SCART to get audio from your player to the HTIB.

You cannot get 5.1 sound from your player to the DAV by the looks of it unless the dav has coaxial/optical, HDMI input, or 5.1 RCA input. The best you'll get is Stereo & Dolby Pro-Logic

dav has no coaxial or optical, probably the reason why it was so cheap at around £150, but for DVD it brill, and the sound quality is good to my hearing. so the 6phono to scart adaptor wouldn't work then, as i was thinking of getting one, connecting the 6 pins to the 5.1 pins on back of blu-ray then using that via scart for surround

Scart only carries stereo sound, the 6 RCA's on a SCART to 6x RCA is for composite and stereo audio, bi-directional.

You can only get Pro-Logic from your blu ray player.
