Hullo, I have a Netgear wireless router. MR814v2 to be precise.
I have my NTL broadband wired into it, the router wired into my Ethernet socket and the other PC in a separate room connected to the router via a wireless dongle.
When I play Red Alert 2 online (yes, I know it's old), I can play one game fine, then as soon as it finishes I'm left with a "trying to find server" style message. Quit the game and I've lost my internet connection completely. I have to reset my modem and do a fresh reboot to get it back again.
I don't really play any games online anymore, but I'm sure this once happened with some other games and I managed to get it sorted. Can't remember how, though.
Anybody got any ideas? I've forwarded all of the correct ports according to PortForward.com and I'm out of clues.
Cheers guys.
edit: To clarify, it seems to be the modem itself that is losing the connection. The lights stop flashing and it needs resetting.
This doesn't happen without the router involved. If I plug directly into the modem I have no such problem. However, this is a major pain because my second PC is without internet access and my family need it.
