Guys,

im trying to connect both my pc and xbox 360 into my JBL speaker system.

the speaker has one 3.5mm input (which the pc is usually connected), when i want to use the 360 i unplug the PC 3.5mm jack and then plug in the the one from the xbox.

i am trying to find away around plugging and unplugging over and over again.

I bought a 3.5mm stereo splitter that i thought would allow me to have both connected at the same time, unfortunately this didnt work as the sound became badly distorted.

does anyone have any ideas on how i can manage this?

cheers

Quality switcher box cost some ££, better to invest in to good sound card for pc it will improve sounds for pc and xbox.

was trying to avoid having the pc on at the same time though

Any cheap switcher box will do, although you may find that they are for RCA connections so you might need to get some RCA > 3.5mm cables.

Rather puzzled by that comment. How can buying a sound card for the PC solve the issue of switching between Xbox and PC when connected to the speakers. :/

When xbox is connected to PC sound card there is no need for switching between them. One cable is going from x'b to pc and from pc to amp. There is no mention of second card. Only suggestion to invest the money for switcher box in to good sound card to improve sound.

BTW: Good sound card with DD can decode digital 5.1 sound from x'b to analog 5.1 no need for amp then only good pc speakers.
