Connection problems with router

I have lost my internet connection and am having trouble getting up and running again.

Before I waste a fortune calling the help desk could you recommend anything to try first.

I use a Siemens gigaset Se587 and when I try and connect to the network the adsl light continuely flashes and no connection.

I have tried the norm by replacing all the cables and filters (except for one which is stuck in the wall) I even tried changing the router and still having problems.

One thing that is strange and that is that the router settings keep resetting as well. I have to keep setting up again each time I boot up.

I am with the infamous tiscali by the way.

i can guess that the inital reason why you have no access is down to yoiur router not keeping settings after reboots as you stated.

i would upgrade its firmware and re enter your login : pass and adsl isp settings etc.

You could also try another router. They're cheap these days.
