Connection speed problems

Hi i recently changed my Motherboard in my PC and when i start trying to re-download everything and its not happening, iv tried running speed tests but they are timing out before they finish, my other devices in the house are working fine and are getting 30mb's + down and about 4-6 up which is what i was getting on before i changed PC's, has any one got any ideas of where to start looking to fix this?
 
Assuming you are using Windows 8, does the network icon near to the clock in the bottom-right corner show "Internet Access" when you mouse over it?

EDIT: Forgot to ask. Are you using Wired or Wireless?

Sorry shold have mentioned I'm using windows 7 home premium and it's a wired connecrtion although it is though a tp-link. Yeah it shows Internet access when hovered over the icon

Did you just change the motherboard and not do a clean install?

Usually changing motherboard while keeping an old install of Windows can cause a lot of driver conflicts due to older drivers from the older motherboard.

Have you tried installing the latest network drivers and see if that helps?

You're getting massive latency with that pingtest. I would expect ~15-40ms to bbc on a fibre connection, you're getting 585ms.
Try a tracert google.co.uk which will show you the different hops to the server including the first to your router. It should be ~3ms using homeplugs. I'd hazard a guess thats where your problem is..
Can you try connecting a longer patch cable straight to your router?

yeah i did a clean install as i moved my OS onto an SSD at the same time.

before upgrading i was having no problems with the homeplugs which is strange, i have tried a patch cable straigh to my router and no different

IE doesnt have a proxy on it atm
 
even tho im still getting a connection could this be a hardware fault? as the wireless connection on my laptop is completely fine
 
Is your laptop fine if using the wired homeplug connection?
Another thing you could try would be to share a folder on the laptop and copy a large file to your desktop (and vice verca). If it copies at a decent speed you can rule out the nic I guess.
Have you tried using a different browser?
Odd one though fer sure!
 
Using my Laptop im getting a download speed of 60mbps and a 4.18 up which is about what i was getting on my old PC before changing any thing.
im normally using Chrome but iv tried in IE and its the same,

with the Mobo i got theres a program cFosSpeed, im not 100% sure what it does but ill uninstall it and see if it makes a differnce
 
Never mind uninstalling the cFosSpeed has solved the problem back to where i should be, cheers for all the help guys much appreciate it.
