Connection to broadband with new router

well i got my new router today a netgear dg834g v3 and i cant get it to connected to BTopenworld
can any1 help me ive tryed everythin and emm well lets say nothing has worked

plug it in.

connect the telephone cabe from the sokcet on the wall to the RJ11 port

connect your pc to the router via the Patch cable supplied

goto explorer and type http://192.168.0.1

username is admin / password is either blank or "password"

click the wizard, choose isp from list or choose other and enter name of isp.

enter your username / password for your broadband connection (will be supplid on the sheet of paper from when you signed up) ie [email protected] / mrbloggs1234

click appy, then test... click status, should say connected

ok done and thanks it was my own fault i wasen't giving it time to estabish connection but its now working thanks for the input

I just plugged my DG834G in and hit the auto setup button, does it itself, went busy for about 5 seconds or so then asked for my username/password i use to connect, put em in hit apply job done.

yeah i got as far as that i entered my usernmae ie e-mail addy and i don't have a password i got stuck there lol so looked up bts help found out all i had to do was enter bt into the password box and hey presto its away am now gettin better pings in battlfield 2142
and my own server am getting a ping of 25 as where it used to be 32
