Just a question.. the new Conroes seem to be a hell of a lot faster nowadays but im wondering which one is equivalent to.. eg. E6400 is equivalent to a X2 4400 etc..

Anyone got a table showing the relationships and speeds between them?

Just wondering as im hoping to get a Conroe that is faster than a 4400+ at stock.

Dont see a E6400 in there - but at a guess what would it be par to, on stock?

Debating between E6300/6400 due to 1.86ghz and 2.13ghz :p

Ideas?

Haha, Stelly as you seem to know a lot about Conroe

Im deciding which to go for (on a fairly strict budget) out of the E6300/E6400.. Ive heard the 6300 beats a 4400+ stock in games.. same with the E6400 but i cant decide what to get?

There are 8x multipliers on the lower end Conroe Cpu's, you will need super exspensive ram if you ever want to overclock for those extra cycles ;)
 
not going to overclock, ive been told the E6300 beats a 4400 on stock?

If you were on a budget, what would you get? E6400/E6300 because i dont know...

I want it to run Vista when its out, and to run games faster than what i am now...but to last a while...and beat atleast a X2 3800-4400...

The E6300 is a x7 multiplier. The problem with getting those really high is you need masses of FSB and no board seem to be able to do "masses" yet.
 
Not sure if i have the funds to spend that, as i need to get the whole PC.. Monitor included :mad:

But i will see what i can come up with... So you think even the E6300/E6400 are powerful enough for latest games etc ?

Correct 7 x multiplier my mistake :)
