Conroe vs X2

From what I have read in many reviews there arent any present games you will notice any real speed difference in from the AMD 4400 X2

The conroe is undoubtedly a better chip for the long run, but you may have to wait to be able to notice anything
 
At stock what would this be par with?

E6300

Im thinking about dropping down the processor because i want a better monitor :)

hmm my local shop is now selling the x2 3800 for £140 inc vat. now thats a good price, but im gonna wait just a little longer. soon it will drop to 100 quid all in.
