Conroe Win2k/XP question

Will the new Conroe 64bit dual cores run the old 32bit OS
like Win2k/XP or will it only run with WinXP 64 ?

There should be some chipset INF driver files which will tell those OS about the new processors otherwise everything should be hunkydory. I'm looking forward to seeing x64 getting more attention now.

I was told when you upgrade to 64bit chips that you have to buy
Winxp 64 which was putting me off at the extra cost i didn't know
that Windows 2k/Xp would run on it.
