Considering buying LHD Audi TT, Pitfalls?

Nothing wrong with LHD.

Im used to them being from Germany :P

apart from when you need to drive on the left and you finsd that you can NEVER again overtake anything on a 2 way road. Bus stopped in front of you in the morning? No way can you go past because you can't see ***. You'd like to overtake that caravan doing 30 in a 60 limit? Nope you can't see ****.

That's always been my problem when driving a LHD car in the UK.

9K will buy you a very decent MX-5 or a more than 1/2 decent MG TF if you really need a soft top (and you do :D ).

Very valid points, I am not looking for a soft top, just something sportier than my alfa that has decent looks and is not dated looking (by that I class things such as old MR2s). Wouldnt even consider an MG, not too into the MX-5 not looking for a soft top at all, air con is good enough for me.

Surely a front wheel drive car of equivelent power to the 1.8T TT engine would wear more quickly on the front (turning and power) but less at the rear (just following fronts) so its largely a moot point?

Personally I would not consider a LHD car that is availbale in RHD. To me it looks like a poor mans version...........which it is :)
Either save up for a little longer or change the choice of car. Your Alfa is not exactly a bad car to keep for a bit longer.
What about something like a Z3 or Ford Puma Racing?

I could posibly, very minutely but possibly push myself physically to getting a Z3 (surely that definately screams "revlon volumize with those higlights") but yuck too an old style SLK. once again not interested in soft tops that will sky rocket my premium and i have damn seat/carpets phobias. hmmm wanted something with more umph torque wise than ride it by the ***** CTR. not to fond of looks of old style ITR. Really being drawn back to the TT but am slightly worried about overtaking, mind you i leave a big gap usually so could be fine?....

If you really want a TT then i really would save up a bit more and get a nice one. I think once the new car novelty wore off you really would kick yourself if you had a LHD car.

Well, that's a concept, which looks quite similar to the BMW M Coupe (Z3 based one) - ugly as hell. It won't get made. The new TT will look maybe a little edgier than the old one, but nothing much new I would guess.

thought the new TT looked exactly the same?

Yes your thinking of the TT QS, its just a limited edition 225 where they have striped out the back seats, and a few other bits and bobs to make the car 50kg’s lighter and upped the power to something like 253 bhp. It has nicer alloys and a different colored roof (eg black on silver, blue on black…)
